Stop Dieting and Start Eating to Energize Your Body

If you have been on a weight loss rollercoaster for years, then chances are you have lost control of your body and the way you eat. Understanding that you are out of control is the first step in taking charge of your health, your body and your weight.

Whether you realize it or not, you are responsible for telling your body whether it should be thin or fat. The decisions you make and the way you interact with your environment will determine whether or not your body burns fat for energy, or stores it for a rainy day. Years of chronic dieting, cutting calories and skipping meals will cause hormonal changes in your body that increase your appetite and slow down your metabolism.

This is an instinctual primal response to constantly starving yourself. Although we  live in a high-tech world with an abundance of food, homes with central heating and where tigers only live in cages, your brain is designed for a much more primitive time. When you diet you severely restrict the amount of food you eat. Your poor body thinks you have just undergone a famine. It sends a message to your brain that you need to eat lots of high calorie foods and store extra fat to stock up for the next period of starvation...or diet! Ironically eating less can mean weighing more.

This explains why fad diets leave you feeling constantly hungry and obsessively thinking about food! This is also one of the major reasons calorie restriction diets fail to provide long term success. Within a year of losing over ten pounds, almost 95% of dieters will regain all the weight they lost, with a little bit extra for good measure.

Years of yo-yo dieting will see you stuck in fat storage mode. This is why it can feel like your body wants to be fat and that despite all your best efforts you just can’t shift that extra weight. It may feel like you have lost control, but there is an answer. If you want to convince your body to switch from fat storage to fat burning you need to do something different.

First, you need to stop looking at food as the enemy and start seeing it as energy. Stop starving your body and start feeding it the delicious and nutritious foods it desires.
In essence, this means several things:

1. Stop Counting Calories and Following Fad Diets

2. Listen to Your Body

  • Eat when you feel hungry
  • Stop when your body has had enough
  • Eat foods that make you feel satisfied, nourished yet light
  • Avoid foods that leave you feeling heavy, bloated and uncomfortable

3. Eat Light

  • Cut the C.R.A.P (Commercial Refined and Processed) foods
  • Have more F.U.N. (Fresh, Unprocessed and Natural) foods

4. Health Your Relationship With Food

  • Use hypnosis to create deep and lasting changes to the way you eat and the food you choose to eat

5. Eat With Awareness

  • Thoroughly chew your food
  • Savour the flavour of your meal
  • Make time to enjoy your meals
